Great post. Since I live on the other side of the world– Thailand– I’m glad to hear you got to know the real people of the islands. I’ve also lived in the Marshall Islands and I really dislike the tourist spots. Fair winds to Columbia. Another place to be careful but also to meet great people.

My wife and I are still in Florida trying to buy a house- what a pain– and then I’ll find a boat. Hope to meet you two in some exotic port.

Hi Guys,
As always i enjoy reading your blog. Be careful in those different cultures. It is easy to be taken advantage of.
Did you receive my last email and did you get the email / blog from my friend John Rogers. He is a great guy and a superb sailor with a lot of nautical miles under his ‘hull’. I hope his comments and referal to a contact for you in Florida was helpful.
